Colorado Inmate Search

Before you find an inmate, you must first determine where the inmate is incarcerated.

In Colorado, the inmates who are already convicted of a crime, usually felons with sentences longer than a year, are housed in state prisons.

The inmates who are awaiting sentencing or a trial, offenders who are convicted of a misdemeanor and are serving a one-year sentence or less, or individuals who are awaiting transfer to prison are housed in county jails.

Find Inmates in Colorado State Prisons

If the inmate you want to find is incarcerated in state prisons, you can use the Colorado Department of Corrections's online inmate locator.

You can locate an inmate by entering search criteria in one or more search field(s) of DOC number, last name, first name, and gender. If you are unsure of the spelling of the inmate’s name, just enter any part of the last name or first name (at least one letter). Then submit to search. Each match found in the database will be displayed on the website. You can see the name, DOC number, ethnicity, gender, facility, and age of the inmates. To see more details about one inmate, click on that inmate record.

Find Inmates in County Jails in Colorado

If the inmates are incarcerated in the county jails, the inmates can be found using the Inmate Search tools on the official website of each County Sheriff’s Office.

There are generally several search criteria such as Search by Name, Search by Booking Number, Search by Date of Birth, etc. You need to enter the relevant information in the search field(s) and then click on the search button. Some counties may provide a jail roster or jail bookings report that displays all inmates who are currently incarcerated.

Using the Inmate Search, you can get the photo, personal information, booking history, bond information, court information, charge information, and so on of the inmates.
